MSR Grand Prix Of Portland Preview

With just two races remaining in the 2019 NTT IndyCar schedule, Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) is hoping to close out the year on a high note at the Grand Prix of Portland on Sunday (3:00pm ET NBC). Jack Harvey has taken his No. 60 AutoNation / SiriusXM Honda IndyCar to new levels this season, capturing a podium at the INDYCAR Grand Prix earlier this year as well as three top ten finishes. He has four starts from the top twelve and is right on track with MSR’s 2019 goals.

Portland International Raceway is the shortest track on the IndyCar schedule, coming in at just 1.964-miles long with drivers posting lap times under one minute. The technical track will be familiar territory for Harvey having competed there last season with MSR. Harvey made his best start of the 2018 season at Portland, just missing out on a top twelve starting position. With the momentum that MSR has shown so far this season, the team and Harvey are aiming high heading into the race weekend.

“Obviously I’m excited to go back to Portland and I thought we had a really good weekend there last year,” said Harvey. “We have built good momentum throughout this season and we are pretty hopeful we can keep building on that for a successful weekend in Portland.”

As he continues to build his IndyCar program, Mike Shank is going into the race weekend like any other as the team builds its knowledge in IndyCar competition.

“This season has been tremendous for us,” said Shank. “Jack is improving at every race and we are really hitting all of our goals, and even exceeding them. It’s nice to head back to Portland especially with some data from last year, so we have a baseline to run off of. We will keep digging like we always do and hopefully we can have another solid result to finish off the season on a high note.”
