To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the MX-5, Mazda offered a flashy special limited-edition Mazda MX-5 Miata in Racing Orange.
In the 30 years and four model generations since the first Mazda MX-5 debuted at the Chicago Auto Show in 1989, the sporty two-seater has remained true to its original nature: an affordable, agile lightweight roadster, and the essence of Jinba Ittai or “rider and horse as one body.”
It’s why the world’s all-time best-selling roadster enjoys the support of a loyal and growing worldwide fan community. Here’s the video of the 30th anniversary Mazda MX-5 Miata in action:
The interior of the Special Edition Miata features Alcantara-lined Recaro seats, orange piping, and orange interior louvers and accents. It is outfitted with a limited-slip differential, Bilstein shocks (only on the manual transmission ones), and front shock tower mounts.
It comes with unique Rays ZE40 RS30 forged aluminum wheels, orange brake calipers and a 30th Anniversary badge that features the car’s serial number.
Convertible anniversary editions will have black cloth tops, while the RF retractable hardtop’s roof is body color.
MSRP for the 2019 Mazda Miata 30th Anniversary edition starts at $35,915.

The first Mazda vehicles appeared on American dealership lots in 1970, nearly five decades after the company started. These models were very successful, resulting in Mazda starting to develop vehicles solely for the U.S. market. The Mazda Motor Corporation is based in Hiroshima, Japan., and Mazda’s North American Operations are based in Irvine, California and have been there since 1971. In 2015, the company produced more than 1.5 million automobiles worldwide, with nearly a million of them coming from Japanese plants.
