Grande Entrance

The Monaco Yacht Show for superyachts gives Azimut Yachts an opportunity to display two of the most popular models in the Grande Collection. The boat show held from September 22 to 25 will play host to the largest yacht the brand has ever built, Azimut Grande Trideck, and Azimut Grande 35 Metri, two projects that epitomize the brand’s ability to innovate in terms of design, style and construction.

Grande Trideck is a product of the Shipyard’s collaboration with Alberto Mancini, who designed the exteriors, interior designer Achille Salvagni, and Pierluigi Ausonio, who developed the naval architecture with the Azimut Benetti Research and Development department. Known as Azimut Trideck “+ One”, she has an original layout and is in fact the first three-deck yacht with four terraces cascading down to the water. This has been made possible by creating a new space, in the form of an extra deck in the stern, which joins those found in traditional designs. Given the name Sea View Terrace, this 30-square-meter floating terrace seems suspended in mid-air just two meters above the water’s surface. The other spaces overlooking the water are the sunbathing area on the Sun Deck, an outdoor dining space on the Upper Deck, and the Beach Area. The two lounges closest to the water redefine the relationship they establish with it, offering over 60 square meters of terraces with sea views. The inclusion of the Sea View Terrace also has the benefit of creating the Private Patio, an additional outdoor but sheltered area with a very intimate atmosphere. Two configurations are available offering either five or six guest cabins.

With a modern language of style also used in car design, Mancini lightens the exterior lines and creates a sense of great dynamism. Salvagni has rethought the way the interior space is used, going beyond traditional arrangements and introducing a more natural way to experience life on board. The most natural step is to move the interior dining area from the Main Deck to the Upper Deck, a solution that transforms the former into an area dedicated to a new onboard lifestyle, one that is more relaxed and oriented to socializing.

The new flagship also symbolizes Azimut Yachts’ growing focus on sustainability, with extensive use made of carbon fiber, from which much of the superstructure is built, reducing the yacht’s weight by 30% and cutting fuel consumption significantly, and a second generation D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull, which translates into notable improvements in terms not only of efficiency but also, and most importantly, of range.

Alongside the Grande Trideck, the Shipyard has decided to showcase Grande 35 Metri, which features original solutions in this size range that position the #yacht at the top of the category in terms of the use of space and the number of living areas. The exterior design by Stefano Righini is characterized by aggressive lines and taut stylistic features that sweep powerfully towards the stern, tricking the eye by giving no hint at the sheer volume inside.

Achille Salvagni designed the refined interiors, characterized by a delicate sense of harmony that reprises the family feeling running through the entire line. His approach to design has inspired sophisticated spaces that express a timeless sense of elegance. The living areas are inviting, simple and sophisticated, achieving a harmonious balance between detail and function. The walls embrace and amplify, like a succession of negatives and positives that block and expand the space.
