BMW Customer Racing teams have entered 25 BMW racing cars to open the 2022 SRO Americas Championship at Sonoma Raceway, in Sonoma, Calif. this weekend – April 15 – 17. The BMW entry is highlighted by four all-new BMW M4 GT3 machines in the GT World Challenge America category campaigned by BimmerWorld Racing (2), ST Racing (1) and Turner Motorsport (1).
The GT4 America class will see a total of 10 BMW M4 GT4 entries from Auto Technic Racing (3), BimmerWorld Racing (1), Fast Track Racing (2), Random Vandals Racing (1), Rooster Hall Racing (1), and SRQ Motorsports (2). Both of these classes feature two-driver entries and a mandatory pit stop. The GT3 cars compete in two 90-minute races per event. The GT4 cars have two 60-minute races each weekend. The 2022 GT World Challenge America and GT4 America seasons feature 13 races across North America. Each race weekend includes two races, except the season finale, which is a single eight-hour race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Two BMW M240iR racing cars from DRS & Garagistic will line up in the TC Americas class. The TCX class sees nine BMW M2 CS entries from Accelerating Performance (1), Fast Track Racing (4), HARD Motorsport (1), Rigid Speed (2), and Rooster Hall Racing (1). The TC class cars compete in two 40-minute races each weekend.
Official practice starts on Friday, April 15. Qualifying and Race 1 will take place on Saturday, the 16th. Race 2 takes the green flag Sunday, the 17th.
