Falken Tires Finishes Year Strong with 3 Ultimate Street Car Association National Podiums

The Ultimate Warriors

Taking place in Las Vegas during the tail end of the SEMA Show, the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational showcased an abundance of high-quality high-performance street cars driven by a group of exceptional drivers. Team Falken continued to prove it competes to win, with team drivers earning three podiums to finish the 2023 season strong.

While the last round of Road Course ran at nearby Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Thursday and Friday’s Speed Stop and Autocross events took place at the SEMA Show’s Bronze Lot.

“This event is always an awesome way to end the competition season,” said Gerald Alvarado, Falken Tires’ Supervisor, Passenger Car Motorsports & Events. “Our drivers have performed well all season, and to end the year with three season-long podiums is a testament to what our tires can accomplish.

“It’s always cool to see Falken’s Azenis RT660 perform at the national level,” Alvarado continued. “Falken values our partnership with Optima Batteries and Drive USCA as we all strive to support and grow grassroots motorsports efforts.”

Highlighting Team Falken’s achievements was Bob Sobey, whose 2013 Nissan GTR outfitted with Azenis RT660s led him to a second straight Overall Championship. He also took first in his GTS Class (Sports Car) for the season.

Also competing in the GTS Class was Jordan Priestley, who took his 2021 Tesla Model 3 Performance to a Second Place Class finish.

In the GTT Class (Pro-Touring Truck / SUV / Van), longtime Team Falken driver David Carroll drove his 1974 Chevrolet Blazer to a 2nd Place finish for the season.

“We’re extremely proud of all our Team Falken drivers and the way they competed all season long,” said Alvarado. “It’s great to see their hard work pay off and have our team atop the podium at the end of a long season. A huge congratulations and thank you to all our drivers.”
